Nothing Is Safe

I was watching TV two nights ago and I saw a commerical that I had to stop and snap a few shots of:

Apparently it wasn't enough for Disney to put their branding on sheets, pillow cases, blankets, wallpaper, clothes, lunchboxes, halloween costumes, movies, fast food, television, candy, juice, and god knows what else they've managed to convince kids is necessary and/or better because it's got their favorite animated character on it.

Now they're coming for your kid's eggs.

Part of me thinks this is better than pushing Happy Meals to little McNugget fiends by using Disney tie-ins. But at least those are toys. Kept well, they are collectibles. They are tangible. These eggs have literally been stamped, packaged, and put in the dairy section next to the "normal" eggs, and sold as something different.

And what's worse is that kids will think that the eggs that are cracked out of these Disney shells will cook up looking like the cyclops Mickey shown in the commercial.

There's nothing wrong with this and everything wrong with this.

More soon,

JS
